North Idaho Scholé

What we do

Our scholé group is a place for high school or gap year students to transition into lifelong learners, in community with others on the same journey.

We meet in the Spirit Lake home of the head mentor twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 1pm to 5pm.

Foundations of Education I and II are 6-week courses offered periodically based on interest. These courses are prerequisites for all other terms.

how can we work together?

Philosophy of Education

I believe, as Charlotte Mason said, that all education is self-education, but that’s not meant in a way that excludes the need for mentors, tutors, and discipleship.

At the core of who we are

Over the years, my research has deepened my understanding of myself, others, God, and the world. Education is far more than “checking boxes,” yet we live in a society where certain boxes must be checked. Exploring different educational philosophies and historical sources on education has been an exciting journey in finding our way forward.
